Psychotherapy

Therapy Is For Everyone

Oftentimes, people reach out because they want relief from something they’re carrying, or feel stuck and don’t know how to figure it out on their own. That experience can be painful, lonely and downright scary. The good news is… you don’t have to do it alone. Therapy provides a safe space to explore all the ‘messy stuff,’ in service of freeing yourself from suffering and connecting to a life that feels authentic and meaningful.

My Approach

When working with me, you can expect a warm, gentle, genuine, and relaxed approach. My role is to get to know you, so that I can encourage and empower you towards reaching your goals. I will help you to understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours, connect with your needs, and make meaningful and lasting changes in-line with your values.

I engage from a trauma-informed approach, and recognize trauma as being part of the human experience. Increasing one’s sense of safety is at the forefront of my work, and our time together will primarily focus on the here-and-now while addressing the past in a safe and contained way.

My practice is integrative, meaning that I draw from several therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Emotion-Focused-Therapy (EFT)

  • Narrative Therapy, and

  • Mindfulness practices

The therapeutic relationship is the most important part of this process, so it’s my top priority to create a space where you feel safe and supported.

About My Practice

Individuals Aged 16+

I specialize in working with transitional aged young adults (16-29), and work with individuals over the age of 16. Although I am physically located in Toronto, I am able to work virtually with folks from all across Canada.

Video/ Telephone

Due to COVID-19, I am only offering virtual services at this time. Sessions are being offered through a secure online video platform, or telephone. Evidence suggests that virtual counselling is just as effective as in-person.

Trauma-Informed

I have received specialized training that allows me to recognize the widespread impacts of trauma on one’s life, and how those experiences impact our understanding of the world and relationships around us.

Cost of Services

Therapy sessions are $170, payable by credit card. Limited sliding scale spots are available, depending on need. Please check with your insurance provider to ensure that coverage is provided for Registered Psychotherapists.

If you’d like to connect for psychotherapy, I recommend booking a phone consultation first. Finding the right therapist is an important decision, and the phone consult will help us to assess fit on both sides, and ask me any questions you may have about myself, my practice, policies and procedures.
